Alignment Process

Academic content standards are mapped to CCNA course objectives using the Taxonomy of Performance Indicators (TAPI). TAPI lists discrete academic skills for math, science, and language arts to provide a common language for analysis across varying state academic standards.

Math, science, and language arts teachers in each state worked with external educational consultants to align their content standards to TAPI. The ITE, CCNA Discovery, and CCNA Exploration courses were also aligned to TAPI. After a quality review, the data was entered into the standards alignment database to enable customized reports.
